Abstract: DevInfo is a database system for monitoring human development.
This presentation challenges the community to advance the the fulfilment of human rights as an essential step towards the progress of societies. It presents ideas and best practices to promote progress based on evidence. Key facts are presented in ground breaking visualisations which demonstrate the progress being made in fulfilling rights. It will also show how measurement can help sharpen accountability, allocate resources more effectively, and advance a multi dimensional approach to improving the state of humanity.

Data Documentation Initiative (DDI)

Abstract: The DDI (Data Documentation Initiative) standard is used around the world by a range of Data Archives, National Statistical Offices and other agencies. The latest version spans the full data life-cycle supporting functions such as collection design, questionnaire generation, data collection and processing, and data discovery and exploration.
DDI is an internationally recognised standard for structuring information that can be utilised systematically for discovering and working with relevant statistical content (eg data, classifications, variables, questions), as well as being meaningful to, and interpretable by, people.
This seminar presents an overview of the use of DDI around the world and the value added. It is not a technical presentation.
