There is much debate about the use of respondent incentives to improve survey response rates. The following is a link to the Washington Statistical Society site. The link contains the slides for three presentations and a summary paper from a symposium held on the use of incentives. The symposium took place in October 1992 at Harvard University. Participants included 20 invited representatives of government, business, academic and research organisations.
