Dr Peter Crossman - Assistant Under Treasurer and Government Statistician, Office of Economic and Statistical Research
|Peter has been in Treasury since 1991 and has been an Assistant Under Treasurer since 1995 and Government Statistician since early 1999. Peter is primarily responsible for Treasury's economic and statistical research programs and activities.
His previous appointments include a secondment as Executive Director, Policy, in the Department of Innovation and Information Economy from May 2001 to February 2002, a secondment to Her Majesty's Treasury for 1998 and a two year secondment to the Queensland Commission of Audit for 1996 and 1997. Before joining Treasury he was an Associate Professor in Economics at James Cook University and is a Life Member of Clare Hall, University of Cambridge. He is currently an adjunct Professor of Griffith University.
Peter's major professional interests include economic and statistical policy and research, especially in relation to the economics of innovation and information, econometric and financial modelling and economic accounting. Peter holds a Bachelor of Economics and a Ph.D.
