Peter Cosier is the Director and Founding Member of the Wentworth Group of Concerned Scientists, who came together in 2002 to pursue reform in the management of Australia’s land and water resources.

He has a background in science, specialising in natural resource management and urban and regional planning. His interest is the design and building of systems to mainstream the long term health of Australian landscapes into our economic and social institutions.

Peter is an environmental policy specialist, who, among other things, was a Deputy Director General in the NSW Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Natural Resources and, for six years, a Policy Advisor to the then Australian Environment Minister, Senator Robert Hill.

Peter has been instrumental in driving a range of environmental reforms and is widely respected for his ability to ‘cut through’ complex issues.
